This winter we’ve been putting our love and labor into restructuring our hub and mapping out our future. We are incredibly excited to share with you how we are evolving, and hope you will join us at Sunrise DC’s New Member Orientation this spring.

Sunrise DC dreams of and organizes for a future where all people are truly safe and free. We are a joyful collective of young people unified by our belief that the climate crisis we are facing is a manifestation of global capitalism and white supremacy.

With an expansive approach to climate justice, we commit to the long-term work of abolishing all oppressive systems for our collective liberation. Together with local partners, we take direct action, practice mutual aid, nurture our community, and grow our political power.

If our passions and visions align, we hope you will grow this movement with us as we dream of a future where the earth and all lives on it can truly thrive.

During the 5-week orientation program you will:

join us for a Welcome to Sunrise DC training to learn about our theory of change on March 15th
hear from all of our active teams and see what they are currently working on
meet and get to know the other new people who are part of your cohort
have weekly 1:1 calls with cohort buddies, who are existing hub members that can answer any questions you might have
get training in actions skills
participate in an art build
join a mutual aid/community organizing event
plan your own mutual aid event or action with your fellow cohort members!
