Hi John,

As I talk to voters and supporters about my campaign for Governor, I’m getting asked a lot of important questions. You deserve to hear the answers directly from me.

Please continue reading, but then, I’d like to ask you to split a contribution between my campaign and Valerie Foushee. You can chip in here when you’re ready.([link removed])

Why are you running for Governor?

Easy — because I love North Carolina. We are a great state! And if we invest in our people and their futures, we can be even greater.

I’ve taken on big fights for the people of North Carolina over the past six years as your Attorney General — the opioid epidemic, untested rape kits, voting rights, polluted drinking water, and more — and won! That’s exactly what I’ll do as Governor. I’ll fight for us to have a thriving economy, safe communities, and strong schools.

But some politicians want to take us backward — to gerrymander our state to hold onto power, to restrict access to women’s reproductive health care, to tell you who you can marry, and rig the system to help their powerful friends while North Carolina families fall behind.

With your help, we can defeat Republican extremism and build an even brighter future for our state.

North Carolina is a competitive state. Can you win it?

It’s no secret that North Carolina elections come down to just a handful of votes. But I’ve taken on tough fights before — and won. I’ve won two statewide elections in North Carolina even though both times Donald Trump carried the state.

I will win this race just as I always have — by listening to and connecting with voters, sticking to our shared North Carolina values, and building a coalition of supporters across the state.

The Cook Political Report recently analyzed the 2024 North Carolina Governor’s race and concluded it’s a lean Democratic seat. But we have to run like we’re behind. We can’t take anything for granted.

How can I help?

Believe it or not, JUST by reading this email, you are helping us out. We need to get the word out to voters and Democratic allies about what this campaign stands for and how we plan to win this tough race.

But we also need resources. A battleground state like ours is sure to attract millions in outside spending, and we have to be ready to respond to the attack ads. Any amount you can give today is an investment in the future of our campaign and our state.

That’s why I’m asking you to chip in to our campaign today and help me build the brighter future North Carolina deserves.
