Montana Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D) just announced he will run for re-election in 2024. The Washington Post reports the decision "bolsters Democratic hopes as the party faces a tough Senate map in 2024."

Of all the states with a Democratic Senator, only West Virginia had a higher Trump margin in 2020. So he knows he’ll have a fight on his hands to win re-election.

But unlike West Virginia’s Joe Manchin, Jon Tester supported the president’s Build Back Better plan. Unlike Joe Manchin, Jon Tester supports filibuster reform.

Tester has shown again and again that senators don’t have to turn their backs on Democratic values to win in red states.

Jon Tester is the only working farmer in the Senate. Right now he is fighting for the farm bill that takes on big corporate agriculture monopolies that jack up prices for consumers while squeezing farmers to the bone.

CNN reports that Tester’s announcement that he will seek reelection in 2024 "provides a boost to Democrats’ hopes of retaining the Senate."

That’s why Mitch McConnell and his billionaire Republican donors are already running attack ads against Tester.

Let’s help him fight back.
