Yesterday Cory Gardner vowed to fulfill his constitutional duties by “closely evaluat[ing] the law and facts” in the Senate impeachment trial. But 11 amendments and 13 hours later, he made clear he had no intention of doing anything of the kind.
Gardner voted in lockstep with Mitch McConnell and the GOP majority to block every request for witnesses and documents. What Gardner described as “one of the most serious constitutional actions” looks less like a trial and more like a cover-up.
