Dear Neighbor,
As your Congresswoman, I am focused on bringing home federal funds for our community. That is why I am proud to have secured over $28 million for 15 projects in our district.
Last week, I visited several cities to deliver that funding to you and your neighbors.
Law enforcement and first responders need to be able to communicate effectively when there's an emergency. I delivered $2.2 million to the City of Montebello, which will be used to upgrade emergency radio systems and help keep residents safe.
Having healthy communities starts with having access to clean, safe drinking water. That is why the work Water Replenishment District does is so important. The funding I secured will help WRD keep our water supply clean and set our communities up for a healthy future.
Community green spaces help foster creativity and togetherness, and they benefit everyone in our community. I was proud to deliver this funding to the City of Pico Rivera, which will be used to transform an underused bus depot into a vibrant neighborhood park for all of us to enjoy.
Transitioning to cleaner, smarter transit will help us move more people, more quickly and reduce traffic. The funding I delivered to Foothill Transit will be used to purchase new zero emissions buses for commuters in the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys.
Finally, I was proud to deliver $2 million to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments. This funding will help provide paid work experiences and supportive services for unhoused adults and at-risk youth in Montebello and the greater San Gabriel Valley region.
It has certainly been a busy few weeks here in Southern California. As I head back to Washington, I will keep fighting to ensure our communities have the resources they need to succeed.
Sincerely,
Linda T. Sánchez Member of Congress
