Each month, this newsletter will highlight all the relevant upcoming Professional Development offerings for Wyoming educators. Upcoming PD Opportunities for March:

*Starting at 8 a.m. on March 1, 2023, virtually; DRIVE: Developing Rewarding Integrated Vocational Experiences*

This training will develop work readiness skills for students, job development work with local employers, and job coaching with the students as they begin to work in new positions in the community. This training is free of charge.

The training is geared toward paraprofessionals who work with CTE students and local employers. Ride along with Zenith Business Systems to take a tour through developing vocational experiences in special education. This very informative training will provide information regarding student profile analysis, workplace development and integration strategies and so much more!

*From 9 a.m.-noon on March 1 and 2, 2023, virtually; Motivating and Inspiring Learners*

This virtual training will consist of two, three-hour sessions.

Bringing motivation and inspiration to the classroom is not easy. With this practical training, you?ll discover a results-driven framework?based on a six-level hierarchy of student needs and goals?that you can use to provide engaging instruction to students. Participants share comprehensive understandings of the nature of motivation and inspiration and detail-specific strategies to connect with your students.

*From 10-11 a.m. on March 14, 2023, virtually; Hathaway Scholarship Online Orientation*

The WDE?s Hathaway Team will hold online orientations starting at 10 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month. The orientation is for those new to the program, or for those who want a content refresher. Legislative updates will be included. Sessions will last about 45 minutes.

At the end of each online session, attendees who are still in the meeting will be entered into a drawing for a ?Hathaway Swag Bag.? All district personnel are invited to participate.

*From 3:30-4:30 p.m., various 2023 dates, virtually; Wyoming MTSS Coaching Institute Community of Practice*

The WDE will resume the Coaching Institute for the 2022-23 school year and will hold monthly Community of Practice sessions beginning in September. The purpose of the Coaching Institute will be to provide ongoing support and updates on relevant topics associated with MTSS implementation, as well as technical assistance on our implementation modules (available in September as well).

All virtual sessions will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. The dates include:

*From 11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. on February 16, 2023, virtually; 21st Century Community Learning Centers: Panel Discussion on Using After School Programming to Support Student Success Hathaway Scholarship Online Orientation*

After school programming can play an important role in supporting student success in the school and community. Panelists representing after school and community programs from across the state will discuss lessons learned and considerations with using after school programming to provide learning and behavior supports to students.

*From 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on February 27, 2023, virtually; Winter 2023 Career Development Facilitator Training*

This course covers the 12 competencies that are required for CTE teachers to obtain the work based learning endorsement which allows them to award student credit outside of their content area. Course completers will receive a certificate and are eligible to apply for the Global Career Development Facilitator Credential and certification as a Career Services Provider. School staff, counselors, administrators, and teachers whose roles will include coordinating career development and exploration programming in their respective schools are encouraged to attend. Course duration: February 27-May 1, 2023.
