The environmental, social, and governance (ESG) movement is creeping into every facet of American life. From corporate boardrooms to the federal government, this pervasive investment philosophy is being emboldened by those who hold powerful positions.

For instance, a new Department of Labor rule will allow financial managers to weigh ESG considerations — namely climate change risks — on important financial decisions.

Savings plans have suffered already under runaway inflation brought about by Washington’s spending sprees. Accounts depreciated by an average of 22.9% — from $126,100 in quarter three of 2021 to $97,200 the same time last year. On average, Americans have lost $34,000 in savings.

Despite ESG funds having a well-documented poor return on investment, the Biden administration is willing to bet 152 million retirement plans, which are cumulatively valued at $10 trillion, on this losing and dangerous ESG agenda.

This rule change will inject more uncertainty into personal investment decisions.

------------------------------------------------------------

After years of making antisemitic comments, Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar was removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee by a vote that went along party lines, with Republicans at 218 and Democrats at 211. Immediately following Rep. Omar’s removal, fellow "squad" member Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez gave a speech accusing Republicans of targeting Omar for being black, Muslim, and a woman. But the facts negate what AOC suggested in her speech. And Omar’s removal suggests that at least some in Congress are committed to stopping hatred and antisemitism.
