Friend — Trump has sunk to a new low.
This morning, he undermined and disrespected our service members by downplaying their injuries. Speaking of the troops who suffered Traumatic Brain Injuries by Iranian missile attacks, he said:
“I heard that they had headaches and a couple of other things. I can report it was not very serious. No, I don’t consider [these injuries] very serious issues relative to other injuries I’ve seen.”
I’m angry. I’m speechless. And I’m ready to do everything in our power to remove this awful person as our Commander-in-Chief.
Despicable. Disgusting. And truly a new low for someone who has spent his entire time running in 2016, and as Commander-in-chief, undermining and disrespecting our servicemembers, veterans, and military families.
Whether it is insulting POWs like John McCain, smearing Gold Star families like the parents of Captain Humayun Khan, or telling wounded troops that they weren’t really wounded, Donald Trump will never pass up an opportunity to insult our troops and veterans. It makes me ill.
We have to make sure we’re doing everything in our power to make Donald Trump a one-term president. We have to replace Donald Trump with a president who respects those who serve, and doesn’t insult them.
Whether it’s flipping Senate seats or advocating for solutions to the very real issues our community face every day, you can be sure VoteVets will not stop fighting for one second until November.
Donald Trump’s comments today were out of line for so many reasons, and it’s just another instance in a pattern of unacceptable behavior from this president. Thanks for supporting VoteVets today, we couldn’t do this work without you.
