Hi John,
Today, as part of a collective effort organized by NIAC and the Armenian American Action network, 26 advocacy and civil rights organizations called out Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, the Texas State Senate, and the Texas State House, for supporting the discriminatory SB 147 bill. You can read the full statement here [[link removed]] .
This bill would ban citizens of Iran, China, North Korea, and Russia from owning land in Texas, and set a dangerous precedent for other states to follow.
This bill is an attack on the principles of equality and justice, and a direct violation of the constitutional rights of our communities. NIAC, alongside allied organizations, is taking a stand and fighting against this. We will not be denied the ability to purchase property and live freely based on our heritage.
If you haven’t already, can you take action today by signing the petition to stop this ridiculous bill? sign on to stop this bill [[link removed]]
Together, we can stop this bill and ensure that every person, regardless of their country of origin, is granted their full rights and freedoms under the law.
Thank you for your support.
In solidarity,
Donna Farvard
National Organizing Director, NIAC Action
