As we celebrate Black History Month, some of the most egregious attacks on Black history are happening in schools across the country. It’s even happening here in Alabama.

It’s on every single one of us to ensure that the history of Black Americans is told in its truest form – highlighting injustices and how our ancestors fought to overcome.
I’m not afraid to speak up and I never have been. That’s why I’m asking you to make a contribution to my campaign so I can continue to stand toe-to-toe against Republicans in Congress who want to erase Black history from our schools. [[link removed]]

And as if this wasn’t bad enough, it comes on the heels of Florida’s governor, Ron DeSantis, stating that an A.P. African American Studies course “lacked educational value.”
Republicans like DeSantis disguise their blatant prejudice and hatred as a war on “woke,” when in reality it’s an assault on crucial parts of our country’s history that highlight Black perseverance.
Here’s the truth: It doesn’t have to be Black History Month to care deeply about providing our kids with an education that accurately represents the Black experience in America.
And DeSantis’ ideology isn’t unique – there are more Republicans in Congress that agree with him than disagree. But I’m taking them on because Black history is American history, and that’s worth fighting for.
I need you in this fight to protect our schools from the GOP’s attack on Black history. Chipping in even $10 or $25 right now will go a long way to helping my campaign hold Republicans to account. [[link removed]]
