JOhn,
Last night, the people of Virginia's 4th District made history by electing the first Black woman to ever represent our Commonwealth in Congress.
I'm so excited by the resounding victory of my friend Jennifer McClellan, and I can't wait to officially welcome her to the House.
Having served alongside her in the Virginia General Assembly, I can tell you that she's a tireless advocate for her constituents, a champion for equal justice and opportunity, and someone who knows how to get results (she was a driving force in the Assembly behind landmark laws on voting rights, reproductive choice, and climate change). She's going to prove very fast to be an amazing Representative.
Will you sign your name to help me congratulate Congresswoman-elect McClellan?
