Folks, Republicans across the country have wasted no time since the disastrous Dobbs ruling ended the constitutional right to abortion care. They’ve made it clear that they’ll do anything in their power to attack reproductive freedom wherever they can get away with it.

Unlike far-right legislators in Raleigh and Washington, I know that the business of our state government is to protect people’s fundamental rights — not infringe upon them.

Let’s be clear, North Carolinians support access to reproductive health care. Anti-choice legislators elected from gerrymandered districts are betraying the will of the people in their quest to enact a dangerous, radical agenda. They’re playing politics with our most fundamental rights, and we can’t stand for it.

At a moment when abortion rights are under attack nationwide, I strongly believe we should be doing everything possible to make essential reproductive health care accessible in North Carolina. These medications are key for women to be able to make their own medical decisions.
