47 years after the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade , it’s now in serious danger of being overturned thanks to the conservative Kavanaugh court.

Since Kavanaugh’s confirmation, more Republican state legislatures have challenged Roe v. Wade than ever before in our country’s history.
To make matters worse, Mitch McConnell and David Perdue have confirmed 187 federal judges during Trump’s presidency, a shocking number of whom were conservative activists, bloggers, and others rated “not qualified” by the American Bar Association. On the appellate courts, 50% of all judges are Trump appointees.

Georgia and many other state legislatures have passed laws restricting the constitutional right to abortion, all in the hopes of getting one of them to the Supreme Court.

The best chance we have to save Roe v. Wade is by retaking the Senate so we can stop judicial extremists from being confirmed and stop anti-choice federal legislation.

Last week David Perdue helped introduce the Abortion Is Not Healthcare Act that imposes a federal tax on abortion. It is the latest outrage that we cannot let stand. We need to go further to ensure everyone has the right to make their own healthcare decisions because when women are now allowed to make their own most personal decisions, they are not free.

That includes repealing the Hyde Amendment for people on Medicaid, updating federal policies to ensure the LGBT community isn’t discriminated against when seeking reproductive healthcare, and scrutinizing every federal judicial nominee to guarantee this ruling’s protection for generations to come.

None of that will happen if McConnell has a GOP Senate Majority where Perdue can support the far right’s continued efforts to overturn Roe v. Wade .
