Friend –

We’ve all read about the tragic chemical train derailment on the Ohio-Pennsylvania border that pushed local residents to evacuate their homes. It might be the starkest recent example of the risks we face by relying on fossil fuels to heat our homes and businesses and power our cars and trucks, but it’s not the only one.

Just days after the derailment, there was a malfunction at a cracker plant in Beaver County and toxins were burned off into nearby communities for hours. Dirty fossil fuels are putting us at risk every day. Just a simple search for news of environmental violations in Pennsylvania will show you hundreds of incidents just like what happened in Beaver County.

It’s no wonder that Pennsylvania has the highest rate in the nation of premature death due to air pollution per capita.

We have a problem: the oil and gas industry has gone unchecked for too long. The fossil fuel industry spends millions of dollars every year lobbying, electing allies to office, and even on high priced PR firms to make dirty fuels sound clean.

And their strategy has worked. They’ve managed to get billions in our tax dollars while at the same time getting the legislature to eliminate state workers whose job it is to monitor their activities.

Pennsylvanians can’t afford to have polluters’ profits prioritized over their health. That’s why we’re fighting every day to protect communities like yours and ensure that our air and water will be clean for generations to come. Friend, can you chip in $10, $25, or more today to help us secure more protections for Pennsylvania’s environment: [link removed]

Pennsylvania’s excessive reliance on outdated dirty energy harms our health, and it puts children, the elderly, low-income and Black and Brown rural communities at heightened risk. But it doesn’t have to be this way! We have the opportunity to become a leader in manufacturing and technology again in the clean energy sector: [link removed]

With our allies in the Shapiro administration and in the state legislature, we are on the ground in communities listening, educating, and mobilizing people to take a stand.

Pennsylvanians are clear. We need clean energy jobs with liveable wages. We need clean air and water for our children to grow up healthy. We need pro-environment voices in Harrisburg to enact strong environmental laws and effectively implement Federal climate funds.

To win the policies we need to prevent fossil fuel pollution and move us toward a 100% clean energy future, we’re going to need your support with full throttle on-the-ground mobilization, education and outreach, and collaboration with our allies.

Please, friend, pitch in with a donation of $10, $25, or more so that we can strengthen the pro-environment voice in Harrisburg and fight for bipartisan victories that will protect every Pennsylvanian now and for generations to come: [link removed]

We cannot allow lawmakers to overlook our communities anymore. It’s time to stop fossil fuel giveaways and put Pennyslvanians’ safety first.

With you every step of the way,
