Dear Friend,

Our first General Meeting of the year is this Sunday! Several important labor struggles are right around the corner, and this meeting is your chance to weigh in on how we as a chapter approach those struggles!

Oakland educators are struggling with unlivable wages, overcrowded classes, and school closures threatening their livelihoods. The teachers need direct community action to win a fair contract and protect public education. Join us Sunday, Feb 26th at Omni Commons as we plan our solidarity!

RSVP here!

What: East Bay DSA General Membership Meeting
Where:
Omni Commons, 4799 Shattuck Ave, Oakland or Zoom
When: Sunday, February 26th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (please arrive by 10:45 to sign in)
RSVP: here!

Please note you need to be an active dues-paying member of national DSA to vote. If you’re not a member, you can sign up at dsausa.org/join.

At the meeting, we will have a panel with teachers from Oakland Educators Association and a chapter member who planned our support of striking University of California workers. We will hear directly from teachers how you can support them in the upcoming struggle. This is also your chance to have a say and direct chapter strategy as a member of the DSA. You can view the full agenda here.

After the meeting, we will have a social at Temescal Brewing! Hang out with your comrades in arms and enjoy some great food and drinks.

See you Sunday!
