Big news, John! I'm so excited to let you know that just a few minutes ago, we launched our 2023 endorsement application! Last year, we endorsed 60 New American candidates, and with the support of the NALAF community (folks like YOU!), we elected trailblazing candidates like Steven Raga, the first Filipino American elected in New York state and Nabeela Syed, the first Gen Z and Muslim woman elected to the Illinois House of Representatives. We also helped re-elect proven advocates like Michigan State Representative Ranjeev Puri to the Michigan House of Representatives and Maryland State Delegate Gabriel Acevero to the Maryland State House. Now, we're ready to support the next cohort of fierce, progressive New American champions as they run, win, and lead!
We know how important it is to support immigrant candidates because when immigrant candidates win, we ALL win! So who should apply for endorsement? This year, we are focused on supporting New Americans in key races and in states like Arizona, Colorado, Michigan, Nevada, and New York where we can make substantial gains in the representation gap and build power for New American communities.
