Big news out of Virginia, team.
Thanks to hard work from folks like you, Jennifer McClellan defeated her Republican opponent in the special election in Virginia’s Fourth District. I am thrilled to have such a dedicated public servant and good friend of many years joining Virginia’s Congressional delegation. This is also a historic moment, as she will become the Commonwealth’s first Black Congresswoman.
Jennifer McClellan has spent 18 years delivering results in the General Assembly, passing legislation that has changed the lives of Virginians, including the Voting Rights Act of Virginia and the Reproductive Health Protection Act – and now, she gets to take her work to Congress.

With her distinguished record leading on voting rights, abortion, and much more, I was proud to support her campaign and I can’t wait for her to join me in Washington so we can keep up the fight to expand health care, protect women’s reproductive freedom, and address the climate crisis.
Will you join me in celebrating her momentous win and sign our card?

Let’s get to work.
