To learn more about the position, click here. The Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis (WFGM) has selected Shante K. Avant as its new President and CEO. Avant has served the nonprofit sector for more than 26 years. She joined the Women’s Foundation as the Director of Grants and Programs in 2008. In 2011 she was promoted to Vice President and played a critical role in overseeing day-to-day operations, building relationships with community partners, and collaborating with local and national partners. In this role, Mary Grace will execute FCCF’s long-term strategic plan for the Fund for Women and Girls. Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Mary Grace worked for Afya Foundation in Yonkers, NY where she spent the last 5 years as Director of Volunteer Programs. During her time there, she managed the organizations volunteer program; coordinating over 3,000 volunteers to sort, pack, and ship medical supplies to medically underserved areas in over 79 countries. Carrie Crompton, Executive Director of the Women’s Foundation of Greater St. Louis, recently joined KMOX to share about the Women’s Foundation’s work acting as a catalyst for workplace, individual, and policy change to advance women’s economic success.
