Mayor Joe Hogsett recently joined the IMPD and community partners to announce over $500K in grant funding for both Downtown and neighborhood businesses to participate in the innovative b-link public safety program.
The b-link public safety program allows registration of personal and business security cameras to create a network of live-stream video access for IMPD to utilize in the event of a crime or incident in the vicinity. Since the City launched this program in 2019, dozens of businesses have taken part to help gather critical video evidence for IMPD to solve and prevent crime.
The IMPD has credited the b-link program with helping solve cases quickly and builds upon the Mayor's three-year, $150 million violence reduction strategy to make Indianapolis safer.
