Folks, I have an exciting announcement and I want you to be the first to know: I’m officially running for reelection here in Montana.

I know this race won’t be easy, but my fight for working families isn’t done yet.

Chip in any amount right now to become a Founding Donor of my reelection campaign. If I’m going to win this thing, I’ll need you by my side from the start. [[link removed]?]

I first ran for office because I didn’t see anyone sticking up for dirt farmers like me. In the years since, I’ve demanded that Washington work for the people, fought to get veterans the health care they’ve earned, and ensured Montanans have someone defending our values in the United States Senate.

And that’s exactly what I’ll continue to do when I’m reelected.

I’m not like most of my colleagues, and it’s not too hard to spot the differences. I’m the only working farmer in the U.S. Senate, and damn proud of it. My wife Sharla and I still work the very same land my grandparents farmed more than 100 years ago.

They didn’t know the meaning of the word “quit.” And neither do I. Our work in the Senate is not done. That’s why I’m running.

I’m running to fight for rural America. I live on a farm without reliable cell service, and home is a town measured in the hundreds of people — so when I say I understand what rural Americans face, I mean it. I am focused on delivering real results for small towns across Montana, and am excited to see the impact of increased access to high speed internet in rural Montana as a result of my Bipartisan Infrastructure Law — but there’s still work to be done.

I’m running to make sure our veterans get the health care and services they’ve earned. Our nation’s veterans held up their end of the bargain — defending our democracy and protecting our freedom. Too often, they return home and don’t receive the benefits they’ve been promised. Enough is enough.

I’m running to get the job done for working families. At a time when the economy’s just not working for regular folks, and your bills are too high, you need a Senator who knows the price of a gallon of gas — not some out-of-touch politician who spends their free time cozying up to Republican special interests.

It won’t be easy. Mitch McConnell and his allies see me as a top target in their fight to take back the Senate — they’re already running ads attacking me. I’m the most vulnerable Senator running for reelection right now, and experts are rating my race as a toss-up. But I know how to win tough fights. I’ve done it before as one of the only Democrats in a red state to win in 2018 — and I’ll do it again.

I can’t do it without your support, team. Can I count on you to step up and become a Founding Donor of my reelection campaign today so I can get back to work fighting for regular folks like you and me? [[link removed]?]

The truth is, whether you’re from our cities and towns or live on a family farm like me, we all want the same thing from our elected officials: Someone who listens to us and stands up for our values.

It’s been the honor of my life to represent Montanans in the United States Senate. I’m fired up and excited for the road ahead, and I’m grateful to have you by my side through it all.

Thanks,

Jon
