URGENT RESPONSE NEEDED: Do you think Congress should ban assault weapons and expand background checks?
John,
Ten mass shootings occurred in as many states over the weekend. This is the worst weekend for gun violence in 2023. This deadly weekend comes soon after terrible tragedies last week at Michigan State University and last month in Half Moon Bay and Monterey Park, CA.
This is an epidemic, John. Gun violence has continued to increase at alarming rates in the past few years, each one more deadly than the last. It has become the number one cause of death for children in the United States. Yet, after countless mass shootings leaving communities devastated, Congress has failed to pass the legislation that we know will save lives.
But, Congress has the chance to finally take lifesaving action: There are bills in both the Senate and the House right now that could ban assault weapons and expand background checks.
We desperately need our lawmakers to make addressing gun violence their priority, because each day that we wait means more lives lost. I know you’re a dedicated activist, John, so today I’m asking you to raise your voice with Brady and demand action from Congress.
Can you help us show Congress that the majority of Americans support banning weapons of war and expanding background checks? Right now, we need 50 more responses to our urgent survey before midnight and we're counting on our committed grassroots supporters to speak out today.

DO YOU THINK CONGRESS SHOULD PASS COMMON-SENSE GUN SAFETY LEGISLATION?

Your help is essential to this fight. Thank you for speaking up.
