Governor Katie Hobbs

John,

Last week, I vetoed the state budget, and here’s why:

After careful review, it was clear to me that this GOP-proposed budget was designed to simply kick the can down the road.

The budget made zero new investments, and I refuse to believe there are zero ways we can improve our state now and in the future — especially as it’s clear we must lower costs, invest in education, protect our state’s natural landscapes from fire and drought, and more.

A do-nothing budget will not solve the pressing issues Arizonans are facing.

I know that Arizona state legislators and I can come together, bipartisanly, and deliver a budget that will provide real solutions and address our state’s housing crisis, lower costs for families, invest in public education, and protect our water supplies.

If you agree, sign on today to join me in supporting a new, bipartisan budget that addresses the issues Arizonans are facing.
