On April 4, Wisconsinites will vote to fill an open seat on the state Supreme Court — in an election that will determine whether that body will have a conservative or a progressive majority until 2025. This race could shape decisions on voting rights, election subversion, legislative district lines, and so much more — and could have a larger effect on the 2024 presidential race than any other contest in the country this year.

Over these last two presidential cycles, the state Supreme Court has played an outsized role in shaping the electoral playing field and the powers of government in ways that have usually systematically advantaged Republicans in Wisconsin.

Just two years ago, in 2020, Donald Trump asked SCOWIS to illegally throw out tens of thousands of votes in Wisconsin’s most Democratic leaning areas. Thankfully, SCOWIS stopped him, but only by a slim 4-3 margin. If we can rebalance the Court, we are more likely to stop these brazen attacks on our democracy in their tracks.

With a conservative justice retiring, April 4th represents a chance to flip an open seat — which could lead to a Wisconsin Supreme Court majority ready to consider cases on new state legislative maps, voting rights, Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban, and otherwise examine cases based on the law rather than Republican ideology.

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin intends to fully support the progressive candidate in this nonpartisan contest. In keeping with other recent high-stakes races here, this is likely to be the most expensive Supreme Court race in Wisconsin history , so we’ll need all the support we can get to win in April.

Will you split a a donation of any amount between the WisDems and the Majority Rules so we can win in April? >>> [[link removed]]

The Majority Rules is a coalition of concerned citizens like you fighting to end partisan gerrymandering and ensure fair elections. We’re focused on making sure everyone who’s able to vote, CAN vote. We support candidates who share that vision, and your donation goes towards getting them elected.
This year is going to be huge in the fight for fair elections! We have seen that voting rights and the integrity of our elections continue to be under attack. Some candidates and organizations have continued to use shady undemocratic tactics to suppress voters. It’s time to fight back! Established in December 2016, The Majority Rules is a coalition of concerned citizens like you. We use your donations to promote state and federal candidates and initiatives across the US to achieve fair elections. We are not aligned with any party or organization.
