Kentucky’s attorney general race is in November, and wow, we really need to win this one. Why? Because the Republican candidate, Russell Coleman, is Sen. Mitch McConnell’s former staffer and his hand-picked candidate. Yeah, that Mitch McConnell. That’s all we really need to say.
But there are many more reasons why Russell isn’t the right choice for Kentucky attorney general. He’s doing all he can to restrict abortion access and he has supported current Republican attorney general (and fellow McConnellite) Daniel Cameron’s hard-right agenda, including supporting an all-out abortion ban.
Republican candidates like Russell don’t have our best interests in mind, and actively work against what people want. Kentuckians overwhelmingly showed their support for the right to an abortion at the polls in 2022, and if elected, there is a very real possibility that Russell Coleman could try to undermine that right.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
