Virginia Senate Democrats blocked a slew of GOP proposals aimed at weakening voting rights here in the Commonwealth.

I’m proud our Democratic majority in the state Senate is holding strong against these attacks on voting rights. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in supporting the Democratic Party of Virginia today, so we can expand our state Senate majority this November and continue defending voting rights in the Commonwealth.

These bills give you an idea of what a Republican majority would do if they had full control of the General Assembly. Among other things, the GOP bills Democrats blocked this session would:

• Institute mandatory voter ID
• Repeal the permanent absentee voter list
• Limit voter registration
• Decrease early voting from 45 to 7 days
• Revoke drop-off absentee voting

If we’re going to protect voting rights here in Virginia, we need to make sure Democrats win their highly competitive races this November to protect and expand our state Senate majority.
