Friend — it's Harley. As I ask for your support in my campaign for Congress, I think it's important that I am as upfront as possible about who I am, why I'm running, and what I'll fight for. That's why I'm hoping you'll take a moment to read the email below and learn about my story.
I've spent my career as a businessman, managing companies from start-ups to 10,000 people. My core principles always remained the same: hard work, honesty, trust, and respect. And those principles created thousands of jobs.
In 1997, I changed party affiliations. I had been a registered Republican, but I could no longer accept party leaders whose primary focus was to take people’s rights away — reproductive rights, marriage rights, workers’ rights, and more.
When Donald Trump was elected to office in 2016, I knew I had to get involved.
In 2018, I ran for Congress. With the incredible support from folks like you, I was able to unseat a 30-year Republican incumbent. But we didn’t just unseat Putin’s favorite Congressman — we also took back the House majority and provided a crucial check against Trump's extremism.
I'm so proud of the work we were able to get done in the 116th Congress. I worked on legislation to keep our small businesses afloat during the pandemic, protected our coastlines from drilling, and brought home millions for Orange County seniors, veterans, and working families. I wasn't afraid to work across the aisle when it made sense, and I became the most productive new member of that term.
We made a lot of progress, but that work is far from over.
Right now, Congress is full of clowns who are more interested in their props and tweets than working for the people who elected them.
In office, I'll make sure that we're bringing home results for folks in Orange County. We need to take action to fight the rising cost of living, invest in affordable housing, pass real climate action, and support small businesses.
I can't do any of this without grassroots support from people like you. We're fighting to make a real change in Orange County, but this is a REALLY competitive district. Will you make sure we have the resources needed to win back this seat by chipping in?
