Fellow Democrat,

Republican Jack Ciattarelli just announced that he will challenge Governor Phil Murphy in next year’s election. But it’s clear that Ciattarelli, who fully supported Chris Christie's disastrous agenda while he was in Trenton, is the exact opposite of the kind of leader New Jerseyans want.

Governor Murphy and fellow Democrats are working hard to correct the many mistakes of the Christie era. Jack Ciatarrelli just can't be trusted to fix Trenton, not when he helped cause so many problems.

Ciattarelli owns the failed Christie legacy -- from stripping away funding for women's health care, to enacting devastating cuts to NJ TRANSIT, to drastically reducing state education aid and causing property tax increases on the middle class, to failing to support commonsense gun safety legislation. That record will follow him throughout this campaign.

After rejecting Chris Christie’s disastrous agenda that gave tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy while dismantling services for everyday people, New Jerseyans are finally seeing positive results. Thanks to Governor Murphy and fellow Democrats, our state has increased the minimum wage and invested more into public education and transit.

Governor Murphy is standing up against powerful special interests and working to change the culture of Trenton by finally putting the middle class ahead of the wealthy and the political insiders, and Jack Ciatterelli would undo all of that progress.

Even in Somerset County, which Jack Ciattarelli and I both call home, voters have rejected the old ways that Mr. Ciattarelli personifies. We have chosen a path toward restoring fairness, transparency, and honesty in all levels of our government. The results are clear, with Democrats winning control of county government for the first time since the 1960s.

New Jerseyans know that now is not the time to go backwards, and that’s exactly what Jack Ciattarelli’s candidacy represents. We need to move forward together, and with your help, that's what we will do. Can you chip in today to help us get there?

Thank you for supporting our party and our principles,
