Is Jimmy Carter an Anti-Semite?

After publishing Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, Jimmy Carter was accused by many of being an anti-Semite. At a February 2007 event, speakers explained how Carter's critiques of Israel were about human rights and concern for both Palestinians and Israelis, and certainly not about hatred of Jews or Israel.

May 1990 Issue
In 1990, Jimmy Carter responded to articles in the New York Times that he believed mischaracterized his travels to the Middle East.

"Mr. Rosenthal insinuated (or stated) that I was a liar by commenting publicly on human rights abuses by the Israeli authorities in the West Bank and Gaza while not simultaneously making similar public criticisms of Syria," Carter wrote. "In my travels I invariably address known human rights abuse in every country, almost always directly with the nation's leader. I did this forcefully in both Egypt and Syria before arriving in Israel."
