Our healthcare system is broken. We spend more than any other country and for often terrible outcomes — like sky-high maternal mortalityright here in Texas. People can’t afford doctors and so we get sick more often. Profits go up for corporations, but bankruptcies rise for the people. We need Medicare for All.
My race is critical to the movement for universal healthcare. Neither of my opponents support Medicare for All, unfortunately. When Democrats take back the White House and Senate, it will be a rare moment in history when we can dramatically improve our healthcare system. We can’t miss our chance.
I am the only candidate in this race who supports Medicare for All and that is why I need your help.
Medicare for All will save lives. Tens of thousands of people are uninsured in Texas 10 alone. We’ve lost three rural hospitals in ten years, while Republicans refuse Medicaid expansion. Medicare for All will keep those hospitals open. And it will cost the average American less than our current system — allowing us to get the care we need, when we need it.
The second largest physician group in the US, the American College of Physicians, just came out in support of Medicare for All:
“Major changes are needed to a system that costs too much, leaves too many behind, and delivers too little.”
We have the momentum to join other developed countries around the world and guarantee healthcare to all. Let’s build a healthcare system that works for everyone.
