From ongoing public health emergencies to the destructive impacts of climate change, we face a confluence of crises today that affect the lives of millions of children and their families across the globe. Just this month we have seen the devastating effects of an earthquake, putting children at risk in Syria and Turkey. But in the midst of these crises, we see a glimmer of hope: our collective ability to band together, speak up and make a lasting impact.

In 2022, we made major improvements to the scale and impact of UNICEF’s programs because of our advocacy efforts. By meeting with the U.S. Government and requesting bipartisan support for policy change for children, our advocates helped boost UNICEF funding used to respond to emergencies and other crises around the world. It’s precisely because of our advocates’ continued support in securing government assistance that we’re able to quickly respond to emergencies like the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey. Advocates also spoke up in favor of improving access to mental health services in schools and protecting migrant children and their families.
Whether you’re new to taking action with UNICEF or you’ve been involved in the past, your advocacy can make a real difference to children across the globe. Now’s your chance to join other activists like you who are committed to advancing children’s health, education, safety and wellbeing in the year ahead.
We hope you’ll join us,
The UNICEF USA Team
