Today marks the 47th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.
The constitutional reproductive freedoms, including abortion rights, guaranteed in Roe increased safety, dignity, autonomy, and economic security for women across our country.
But today those rights are under attack.
The Trump administration is waging an all-out war on women’s and reproductive rights. From nominating Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court, to forcing Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers out of the Title X program, it is more important than ever that we stand together to protect reproductive freedoms for all.
Senator Markey has always been a reproductive health champion, and he needs us to stand with him in the fight to protect abortion rights.
This fight is fundamentally about equality — saying once and for all that women’s rights are not negotiable. They cannot and will not be violated.
We know the forces of sexism and discrimination will not back down from enacting their anti-choice agenda. So it’s up to all of us to stand up and fight back — in the courts, in the streets, and in the Senate.
That’s exactly what Senator Markey will continue to do, and today, he’s asking us to recommit to the fight to protect Roe.
With Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, these rights have never been more at risk. We must ensure equal access to health care for all.
