Since 2014, Hamas and Hezbollah have each built massive networks of underground tunnels to infiltrate Israel and attack Israelis.
These tunnels were dug deep underground by terrorists committed to kidnapping and killing Israelis. Many were built beneath homes, schools, hospitals and mosques, using Palestinian and Lebanese civilians as human shields to protect the tunnel entrances.
Using tunnel detection technology developed and funded with the help of the United States, Israel has destroyed more than 50 of these tunnels to date.
But the threats of terror tunnels persists.
Just last month, the IDF reported that the military has detected more tunnels beneath Israel’s border with Lebanon. While they do not pose an immediate threat to Israeli civilians, the IDF must stay vigilant.
And so must we.
With help from supporters like you, we can continue to work with Congress to strengthen U.S.-Israel strategic cooperation and deliver critical security assistance for technologies like tunnel detection programs that help keep Israel safe.
