John, the U.S. just saw the deadliest gun violence weekend this year so far. There were 10 mass shootings in three days.
Nine children were shot at a Georgia gas station. Six people were killed in a Mississippi town. Eleven people were shot in Memphis. Five people were injured near a parade in New Orleans. Six people were shot on a Chicago expressway.
Overall, 13 people were killed and 46 injured with at least 15 of those being children and teens. We are now up to a total of 81 mass shootings this year, which is significantly higher than the 59 that had occurred this time last year.
This epidemic is growing. And it needs to end. We are the only first-world country facing a gun violence crisis. We do not have to continue living like this.
