Friend,
If you watched the State of the Union this month, you know that the
President masterfully cornered Republicans into committing not to
touch Social Security or Medicare — on live TV.
From Republican Senator Mike Lee saying “it will be my objective to
phase out Social Security, to pull it out by the roots and get rid of
it,” to Republican Senator Rick Scott planning to end Social Security
as we know it and make Congress re-authorize it every five years,
holding the people who depend on it hostage, Republicans have spent
years saying the exact opposite of what President Biden got them to
promise the American people.
And that’s because Republicans know that their proposals to cut
critical investments in seniors are unpopular, so they’re unwilling to
own up to them when the eyes of the nation are on them at the State of
the Union.
We won’t let them walk that commitment back or let them touch other
investments in our communities. I’m
committed to protecting the programs that support working families and
to winning back the House in 2024 — so horrific ideas like these won’t
even be up for debate. Can I count on your
support?

Republicans like to claim they’re the
party of fiscal responsibility, but there’s absolutely nothing
responsible about threatening to send the country into default or
targeting programs seniors have paid into their entire careers.
Working families deserve representatives
who’ll fight for them, and I’m ready to do the work to elect them. Are
you with me?
Let’s get to it Ted
