What is getting better in the American jury system? What is getting worse? How do intersecting topics such as plea bargaining, asset forfeiture, acquitted conduct sentencing, etc. affect our jury rights?

For the third year in a row, a panel of experts will update you on the state of the American jury system today. We'll pay special attention to how things as they are now compare to the state of things in the last two years and pre-pandemic.

You'll hear from:
• Clark Neily, senior vice president for legal studies at the Cato Institute,
• Catherine Bernard, FIJA Georgia state contact and a public defender with Bernard and Johnson, LLC,
• Jay Schweikert, research fellow with the Cato Institute’s Project on Criminal Justice,
• Mike Maharrey, national communications director for the Tenth Amendment Center, and
• Kirsten Tynan, Executive Director of the Fully Informed Jury Association

The short timeframe and guest availability limit how much we can cover in the presentation. To make the most of that time, you are invited to email me at [email protected] in advance with jury-related questions or topics you would like to see addressed. It may not be possible to address them all, but your input will help guide the direction of the presentation.
You have two options for joining the presentation live.
Or join us at the scheduled time for the livestream on the official Fully Informed Jury Association Facebook page here:

Looking forward to you joining us!
