John,

After her fiancé tragically died, a pregnant Pennsylvania woman and her toddler made plans to move in with a family member...

...who then also died.

When the woman learned she was pregnant, family members strongly "encouraged" her to abort. Her late fiancé's parents even offered to pay for her to end the life of their grandchild.

As the expectant mom sat in the procedure room waiting for the abortionist, she got up, went to the restroom, hit her knees, and begged God to help her find a way out of the abortion.

God led her outside, where she met a 40 Days for Life vigil participant, who provided the very relieved woman with information on a myriad of resources available to help her choose life. God showed her a way, and she left the abortion facility.

Campaigns around the world are off and running after launching their vigils with kickoff events.

Chester County, Pennsylvania

The Chester County campaign launch took place before a packed-house audience as the Sisters of Life provided attendees with what the 40 Days for Life leadership team described as a "grace-filled, informative, beautiful presentation."

The exciting rally provided participants--who have been out all year as they hold a 40 Days for Life 365 vigil--with a shot in the arm to expand their vigil this Lent.

"We were inspired and reminded this morning to base our ministry in prayer and sacrifice and to approach encounters on the sidewalk with the love of Christ," wrote the team. "As one sister discussed, this isn't a sign of giving up or of weakness, but it is a BOLD call to living out the courage of Christ."

Madison, Wisconsin

Dan Miller from the 40 Days for Life team in Milwaukee traversed the state through a snowstorm to give the keynote address at the Madison campaign.

Dan shared how God loves covenants. Although Milwaukee pro-lifers had a consistent presence on the sidewalk for years, once the team committed to hosting a 40 Days for Life 365 vigil, God honored that covenant with a dramatic increase in the number of babies saved...and ultimately a closed abortion facility!

The kickoff event was indoors--but 40 Days for Life vigil participants across the Badger State will go back to braving the cold Wisconsin winter when the vigil begins tomorrow!

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

--2 Chronicles 7:14

Heavenly Father, we cry out for Your mercy and ask You to remove the scourge of abortion from our land. Use us as your vessels, Lord, to bring the light of Your truth to our nation once again.
