Dear John,
For 10 years, the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters has worked strategically and diligently to permanently protect the Boundary Waters. We’re starting 2023 off strong with a 20-year mining ban. But the Boundary Waters is not a 20-year Wilderness, it is a forever Wilderness and needs permanent protection. Since the new legislative sessions began, we’ve held meetings with elected officials in Saint Paul, Minnesota and Washington D.C. On January 11, the Boundary Waters Permanent Protection Bill (S.F. 167/H.F. 329) was introduced, and currently has over 30 combined co-authors. And on January 31, 2023, the Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act (HR 668) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. We’ve built strong and solid momentum, and we won’t stop until the Boundary Waters is protected at the state and federal level forever.

Now is the best time to become a monthly donor. Becoming a sustaining contributor is the most effective way to financially support the protection of the Boundary Waters. Every gift, big and small, has a ripple effect that supports our important and much-needed work. |
