It’s safe to say that we’re all a little frayed at the moment. The past few years have been tough and the stress isn’t going to magically disappear, which makes it all the more important to recognize the signs of burnout. It can be described as a bone-deep feeling of depletion, inadequacy, and emotional detachment and happens when the day-to-day stresses of work, marriage, and raising kids builds to such a degree that parents start to feel their performance suffer in all three areas. In addition to keeping tabs on your own well-being and finding ways to manage your stress, it’s important to do the same for your partner. Because it’s often those who know us best that can see such things. And when you do recognize it, learning how to be the right kind of supportive is crucial. Here’s what that looks like.
