John, At the Republican Party of Texas, we are committed
to stopping the sexualization of Texas children and protecting our kids from the woke gender ideology infecting their schools.
Which is why we felt it important to bring this to your attention…
Austin Independent School District, Texas' most politically left-wing school
district, is organizing another “Pride Week” next month – in violation of state law and in direct defiance of Attorney General Ken
Paxton. |
Last year, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent
the school district a letter saying they were in “violation” of state law because of the district's “Pride Week.”
“By hosting ‘Pride Week,’ your district has, at best, undertaken
a week-long instructional effort in human sexuality without parental consent. Or, worse, your district is cynically pushing a week-long indoctrination
of your students that not only fails to obtain parental consent, but subtly cuts parents out of the loop. Either way, you're breaking the
law,” Paxton wrote. Former Austin ISD
Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde took to Twitter last year to defy AG Paxton, flaunting the school district’s illegal
behavior. This must not be permitted – take our poll and let us know if you
agree with banning events that sexualize children in Texas!
We know Austin is often the worst offender when it comes to woke liberal policy, but it is far from the only
one. Be sure to check with your local school and see if they are planning similar activities.
This is why one of our Top 8 Legislative Priorities is “Stop Sexualizing Texas
Kids,” which calls on the Texas Legislature to “prohibit teaching, exposure, and/or discussion of sexual matters (mechanics,
feelings, orientation, or ‘gender identity’ issues), and prohibit use or provision of related books and other materials using criminal,
civil or other enforcement measures.” Should the Radical Left be
allowed to push their woke gender ideology in Texas public schools? Let us know what you think! We
want all of our state legislators and statewide elected officials to hear from the grassroots loud and clear on this issue. |
Thank you for speaking out, Texas Republicans
