Dear John,
With the start of a new Congress, it’s important to remember our accomplishments and look at the ways we can better serve our communities going forward. That starts with securing our fair share of federal funding and supporting our local leaders, and that’s why I secured over $1.4 million for Rutgers-Camden in last year's budget. This funding will go directly to investing in our workforce and strengthening educational opportunities for all students in South Jersey. Read more about the impact it will have here.

Honoring Future Servicemembers and Veterans
Additionally, I was at Camden County College on Wednesday to honor the 2022 Service Academy nominees from New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District! Each year, I nominate qualified candidates from South Jersey to the United States Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine Academies. They are already inspiring us with their hard work and dedication, and wish them all the best. Information on how to be nominated can be found here.

On Thursday evening we held a town hall in Winslow. There was a great turnout! I heard directly from members of the community and had the privilege of honoring an American hero, Army Master Sergeant George D. Cathie, Sr. Sgt. Cathie received Valor and Combat Action ribbons for his bravery in Vietnam, having been in one of the first Americans to see combat in the war. On behalf of a grateful nation, Master Sgt. Cathie, thank you for your service.
I invite you to stay engaged by signing up for my newsletter and calling my office if you need help with a federal agency. It’s an honor to serve you.
