Dear friend,

More than 3,600 generous individuals stepped up this month to help Mercy
Corps’ humanitarian efforts worldwide as they learned about the horrific
earthquakes affecting Northwest Syria this February.

I am both astonished and unsurprised to see the compassion of our loyal
global community in action. It’s an inspiring and timely reminder of our
shared humanity.

Today, nearly one year has passed since the full-scale invasion of
Ukraine. With the outpouring of gifts and encouragement last February, and
time after time in the months since, our supporter community has shown
that they have not forgotten that people all across the globe are facing
crises.

We work in 40+ countries worldwide. Prior to the war, Ukraine was a key
part of the solution to food insecurity in many of these places. In our
deeply interconnected world, this war has sent shockwaves of hunger and
poverty around the globe.

In Ukraine, the war has shattered communities and upended lives. Now
amidst winter’s freezing temperatures and the decimation of the country’s
critical energy infrastructure, the situation has grown even more dire.

While we’re providing the urgent support needed today,
we’re also investing in our local offices in Ukraine and Moldova, hiring
staff, and gearing up for the long haul. Our monthly givers are vital to
this work.

sustain our lifesaving humanitarian response in places like Ukraine, Syria
and 40+ countries by giving monthly.

In 2022, the
support of people like you has helped Mercy Corps reach
more than 38 million people in the 40+ countries where we work, including
more than a million people in Ukraine, whom we’ve served through
partnership with local organizations.

We are providing cash assistance and delivering essential supplies to
internally displaced people, helping them find and pay for temporary
shelter, connecting families with trusted information on how to access
safe routes out of occupied territories, and offering resources on their
legal rights both in and outside of Ukraine.

As the war wages on, the humanitarian need is growing. Nearly 14 million
people have been displaced by the war, attacks have destroyed the
country’s agriculture and industry, and millions of Ukrainians are without
a reliable source of power.

Your gift can be a lifeline to people impacted by conflict and disaster
around the world.

You can make a long-term impact for people in 40+
countries as they recover and rebuild their lives. [ [link removed] ]Will you join

One of the things I am most proud of about Mercy Corps is how we not only
provide for people’s immediate needs in a crisis, but we address the
underlying conditions and really work toward building long-term
resilience.

Our team’s deep skill and expertise in helping people cope today, plus
adapt for tomorrow, is what I believe makes us uniquely served to help
people and communities to thrive in a more peaceful future.

I am so heartened by the generosity of this community. I hope you’ll join
together again to make a difference for people in crisis around the world.

With gratitude,
