"Are you willing to fight for that person who you don't even know as much
as you're willing to fight for yourself?” — Bernie Sanders

On our [ [link removed] ]National Organize-to-Win Call Monday night, US Rep. Pramila
Jayapal laid out our [ [link removed] ]theory of change and how Biden can use executive
action to deliver under a divided Congress.

Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Jayapal said the caucus
will be organizing with Our Revolution members in an inside-outside
strategy.

[ [link removed] ][IMG]

Rep. Jaypal [ [link removed] ]set out a path under a divided Congress, including pushing
President Biden to use the power of the pen on housing, higher wages for
care workers, and more. He can also crack down on Big Pharma, the energy
sector, and employers withholding overtime pay, she said.

And, Jayapal believes we may be able to get bipartisan legislation on
issues like antitrust — key in the battle against corporate power.

Finally, she said it’s time to prepare for the next big takeover of
Congress in 2024, when we can grow our power at every level of government.

What races are you eyeing in 2024? We’ve already started a fund to

[ [link removed] ][IMG]

Our Revolution members identified 5 top priorities for Biden to use the
power of the pen: climate action, economic/tax fairness, lower healthcare
costs, worker power/wages, and equal justice under the law.

These will be the focus as our Federal Action Team members organize with
partner groups and elected allies. There’s a path, so let’s get to work!

Be part of the action and help our coalition push Congress and the White
House to deliver for all of us.

Committee. He’s taking on [ [link removed] ]Big Pharma, calling out Moderna for raising

[ [link removed] ]union-busting.

Bernie has a plan to expand Social Security against right wing pushes for
cuts, and he’s introducing legislation for $60k minimum pay for
[ [link removed] ]teachers!

On the House side, Rep. Pramila Jayapal is leading an [ [link removed] ]opposition to
Medicare Advantage — an historic step in the fight against Medicare
privatization.

On Valentine’s Day, our coalition rallied to show love to servers and
organize for higher wages in NYC, Baltimore, Chicago and cities across the
country.

We're partnering with One Fair Wage and putting bills on the table to end
the subminimum wage in states around the country. Now, it’s time to
pressure elected officials to pass them, and we’re taking on the
restaurant lobby to do it.

Call your State Reps and tell them to end subminimum wages if you live in
the following states:

If you’re anywhere in the country, we can use your help to raise the wage
and end the subminimum wages in states across the country, and we’re
lobbying state lawmakers to pass them.

SENATORS JOIN OUR FIGHT vs. ‘OTHER NRA’

[ [link removed] ]Rolling Stone broke the news that Senators Bernie, Warren, Merkley,
and others joined our stand against the ‘Other NRA’ for taking $25M of
workers’ money to keep wages low.

“You owe workers an answer as to why you are secretly using their funds to
lobby against their interests,” the Senators wrote.

Thanks to NRA lobbying, the federal minimum wage has been stuck at
$7.25/hr for 14 years, and the federal tipped wage has remained $2.13/hr
since 1991!

Call your Reps and demand they reject dirty money from ‘Other NRA’. US
Reps. Ro Khanna and Greg Casar, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and others have
already signed on!

When we told new House Speaker Hakeem Jeffries where the money came from,
he returned it, and we’re urging more elected officials to do the same.

NEXT LABOR SECRETARY?

Between Sean Patrick Maloney and California Labor Secretary Julie Su for
Secretary of Labor, OR Exec Director Joseph Geevarghese told [ [link removed] ]The Hill:

“Fighting for workers is in her DNA, and she has a track record of doing
it,” Joseph said of Su, adding that “Maloney is no friend of labor” and is
“aligned with the corporate wing of the Democratic Party.”

He also suggested former Rep. Andy Levin for the role. Levin was
reportedly considered before Marty Walsh was named in 2021.

“To me, the most significant data point is that union density is at an
all-time low,” Joseph said. “President Biden talks about support for
workers on strike, but at the end of the day, he as president hasn’t used
his power to add more workers to the ranks.”

[ [link removed] ]These are the decisions that have reverberating impacts for workers
and our families. Join Our Revolution to grow our progressive voice and
stand with labor.

BUILDING LOCAL POWER IN ST. LOUIS

[ [link removed] ][IMG]

St. Louis is an exciting place for progressive organizing right now — from
electing US Rep. Cori Bush in 2020 to Mayor Tishuara Jones and a
progressive majority on the Board of Aldermen in 2021.

Since new Board President Megan Green completed the progressive trifecta
in November, the city has passed a Basic Income trial, pushed for tenant’s
rights and much more!

Now, the whole St. Louis Board is up for grabs again in redrawn districts,
and Our Revolution has an amazing slate on the ballot to hold the
progressive majority — from re-electing Megan Green to candidates in 10
ward races.

MEET ALISHA SONNIER

[ [link removed] ][IMG]

One of those candidates progressive powerhouse Alilsha Sonnier who we are
proud to back for St. Louis Alderwoman in Ward 7!

Alisha's [ [link removed] ]activism began with the murder of Michael Brown, and she's
worked with the Fight for $15, Pro Choice Missouri, as political director
for Megan Green’s campaign, and now on the St. Louis Board of Education.

“This story starts with the death of a black young man left in the street
for 4.5 hours less than a decade ago — to now some of the city’s highest
seats being held by the people aligned with a people-centered agenda,”
Alisha [ [link removed] ]said Monday.

[ [link removed] ][IMG]

Alisha spoke on housing, healthcare, education, and ending cash bail: “The
thing that stands between people and their freedom should not be whether
or not they can afford it.”

“I want to see accountability for the people with the power and the
money,” Alisha said. “I’m not asking for anything extreme, I just want to
see them pay their fair share.”

“When we’re building this political movement, we’ve got to advocate for
our people and our city like it’s do or die because it is,” she said. “We
can show a national model of what progressive leadership can look like.”

OR Board Chair and Nebraska Party Chair Jane Kleeb joined our [ [link removed] ]National
Organizing Call to talk progressive party-building — from the grassroots
to the DNC.

“There are changes happening even though we sometimes get setbacks like
with banning dark money,” Jane said. The resolutions committee refused to
allow a vote, [ [link removed] ]Common Dreams reported.

Our progressive bloc is growing, and Jane called on us to plan now for
upcoming delegate elections to get more say over election rules, party
platforms and more.

NEW GROUP! The San Francisco Education Alliance, powered by Our
Revolution, just launched!

“Pushing back against recalls and privatization, a group of local
progressives affiliated with Our Revolution, has launched SF Education
Alliance...‘proudly left-leaning, anti-racist, anti-fascist,
anti-carceral, pro-union,’” the [ [link removed] ]San Francisco Standard reported.

Organizers Jess Nguyen and Allyson Eddy Bravvman [ [link removed] ]laid out the vision
to protect public schools, advance progressive policies, mobilize the
community, and hold elected officials accountable.

“Our public schools are at an inflection point, but when I think of Our
Revolution, I think of grassroots activism and people power,” said SF
Education Board Commissioner Alida Fisher. “That’s what drives me every
day.”

Leaders like Bernie Sanders and Ro Khanna are bringing these issues to the
forefront, and we can help bring change by sharing our horror stories in
