Hospitality Awards Recap


On Valentine's Day, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce hosted the Hospitality Awards. This event honored 66 front-line workers in Arlington's hospitality industry who deliver outstanding customer service, exhibit excellence in their roles, and continuously exceed their job descriptions. 


During the event, attendees heard the incredible stories of each Superstar award winner that described their care and dedication to their work and how much each serves the Arlington hospitality industry. The ceremony also honored 11 individuals with the Bob Klein Legendary Service Award for their 25 or more years of service in the Arlington hospitality industry. There were many exceptional stories shared of long-time service and dedication to the hospitality industry.

Certificate of Occupancy Applications Moving to Permit Arlington


Arlington County is moving Certificate of Occupancy permits to Permit Arlington beginning February 28. Starting February 22, Certificate of Occupancy payments will not be accepted on the existing payment portal. Permit Arlington will be unavailable for all permits, applications, and inspection scheduling from Thursday, February 23 at 4:30 p.m. through Tuesday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. as the platform completes updates.

The Business of the Year designation is awarded to the businesses that best meet the following qualifications:

Arlington Chamber Supports Goals of Metro Strategic Transformation Plan



The Arlington Chamber expresses support for the Strategic Transformation Plan. This Plan is a high-level overview of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)’s goals for the future. The Chamber is especially supportive of the emphasis placed on regional opportunity and collaboration. Arlington is home to eleven Metrorail stations and multiple Metrobus lines; it serves as a key factor in Arlington’s economic development. Fostering strong relationships between WMATA, Arlington and other counties is essential to a prosperous metropolitan area.
