STTA Live!  The Second Annual HIV Criminalization Awareness Day

Repealing laws that criminalize HIV and AIDS would help to lessen the stigma of living with HIV, encourage vulnerable populations to get tested, and end the epidemic sooner. It is also an issue that impacts the fight for gender equity, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ equality as women, BIPOC communities, and LGBTQ+ people are often unfairly targeted by these decades old laws.

Join us this Thursday, February 23rd for Something to Talk About Live!

PFLAG Connects: Communities - March Meetings

PFLAG Connects: Communities (PCC) provide a safe, virtual, moderated space where people with shared experiences can connect each month. PFLAG National’s current communities gather people of Latino, Black/African American, and Asian American and Pacific Islander backgrounds to gain support, ask questions, and learn from others who have been through similar experiences.

We also host a Military Community meeting, in partnership with our friends at the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA).

Learn more and check out our upcoming meetings for March!

Coming March 27: Our first Read With Love Book Club Meeting!

PFLAG would like to introduce you to a book club experience: the PFLAG Read With Love Book Club, where you'll read alongside a group of dedicated bookworms eager to devour titles written by LGBTQ+ authors.

And even better? We’re partnering with our friends at ShopQueer.co, an independent bookshop that splits its profits with queer authors, doubling their income from the sale of a book.

First up? Arvin Ahmadi’s How It All Blew Up, an incisive look at identity and what it means to find yourself by running away. We'll be joined by author Arvin Ahmadi for our meeting!

Sign up now at pflag.org/rwl-bookclubWe can't wait to read with you and #ReadWithLove!

Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week: February 19th - 25th, 2023

Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week (ASAW) is a week meant to spread awareness and acceptance of aromantic spectrum identities, as well as a chance for the community to celebrate their own experiences and existence.

ASAW generally occurs the first full week (starting Sunday) following Valentine’s Day; it began in large part as a way for those in the aromantic community who had difficulty finding space for their experiences to come together and celebrate.

To get educated, get involved, and help spread the word, visit arospecweek.org.
