It's been 48 days since the GOP assumed its narrow majority in the House. They could have spent their time focusing on the issues impacting everyday Americans and working to improve their lives.
Let's see what they've done instead:
Since last month, the GOP has used its narrow majority to propose a 30% federal sales tax that would disproportionately harm working class families and communities, renewed their attacks on reproductive rights, and have considered holding the economy hostage by refusing to raise the debt ceiling unless Social Security and Medicare are slashed.
Let us be clear: their cruelty is the point.
Meanwhile, our movement has been organizing around large-scale policies that will actually improve life for working people across the country — like a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and raising the minimum wage, among others.
