Team,
Earlier this month, a freight train carrying hazardous chemicals derailed near East Palestine, Ohio. In its aftermath, many residents were forced to flee their homes and have since expressed concerns about the environmental impacts, while some Ohioans have suffered physically as a result of the hazardous materials.
In times of crisis, Ohioans come together to help their neighbors in need. That's why we're encouraging Ohians to support the Brightside Project, a Columbiana County nonprofit, that is helping local families get the help and resources they need.
To join their efforts, Ohioans can chip in to the East Palestine Crisis Relief Fund or find their Amazon Wish List for food and materials that local families need.
We stand with those asking for help and demanding answers. Senator Sherrod Brown is leading the charge, calling on federal agencies to supply the necessary resources to Columbiana County without delay.
Our hearts remain with those who have been affected by the train derailment. We'll continue to push for accountability and justice for Ohioans impacted by this crisis.
Thank you,
The Ohio Democratic Party
