Senator Dianne Feinstein has decided not to run for re-election next year, but she is leaving behind an INCREDIBLE legacy on our nation.
Senator Feinstein was a pioneer who helped break down barriers and ignite real change.
She first rose to prominence in 1978, becoming the first female Mayor of San Francisco following the assassinations of George Moscone and her colleague Harvey Milk.
That led her down a path of public service. In 1992, Senator Feinstein was elected to the Senate in what became known as the “Year of the Woman,” alongside Barbara Boxer, making California the first state in the nation to have two female Senators.
And in the Senate, she made history by authoring the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and rising to become the first woman to chair the Senate Rules and Intelligence Committees.
Senator Feinstein is a change-maker and should be celebrated for her accomplishments. Please, sign our card to commend Senator Feinstein on a historic career!
