And a new poll from the Southern Poverty Law Center found that 65% of Mississippi voters want to see the state’s ballot measure process restored!

In 2021, the state Supreme Court ruled the ballot measure signature-gathering process in Mississippi unconstitutional. The court’s ruling came shortly after voters approved a medical marijuana ballot measure in 2020. With its decision, the court invalidated the entire ballot measure process, thereby denying voters the right to place any measures on the ballot moving forward.
