Friend,
Last year, corporate profits soared to a 70-year high as companies
shamelessly used inflation as an excuse to gouge consumers. Drug
companies. Food giants. Big Oil. They blew the doors off with record
profits even as the world burns and people suffer.
But you would hardly know this was happening, according to the corporate
media.
Yet Common Dreams has covered this story tirelessly in order to make
sure this story of corporate greed is told, and the accepted mainstream
stories about what’s driving inflation are challenged.
You’ll find such coverage in few other places, because only truly
independent media can accurately report these facts without fear of
reprisal from powerful executives worried about the wrath of advertisers
(or their own financial portfolios).
To keep Common Dreams on solid footing going forward, we’ve set a
Winter Campaign goal of raising $80,000 while also signing up 200 new
monthly donors by March 1 to keep us strong in the months ahead.
Will you help meet this goal by donating $5 or $10 a month to Common
Dreams?
