Dear Fellow American,
You’ve probably noticed the spread of anti-American ideology into every area
of American life.
Consider the 2019 controversy surrounding the Betsy Ross flag. Even though
this was a few years ago, you still may have heard of it.
Shortly before Independence Day, Nike announced its plans to release an
athletic shoe featuring the Betsy Ross flag. Then Nike spokesman Colin
Kaepernick objected, condemning the flag as a symbol of racism and slavery.
You won’t be surprised to learn that a social media storm followed, with Nike
announcing that it was halting the production of the shoe.

The Kaepernick episode illustrates the problem of progressive education, which
seeks to rewrite our nation’s history, and undermine the kind of informed
patriotism essential to preserving liberty.
Now that you know what a few others think of the Betsy Ross flag...

Like the frenzy for tearing down statues that we witnessed in cities not long
ago, the Nike shoe controversy is the bitter fruit of the progressive
educational agenda.
